Atrack is shutting down

As Google App Engine now required payment enabled for free tier, and they still don't have a way of limiting budgets, it's time to sunset Atrack Torrent Tracker.

We have now changed to the new 120181311.xyz domain

Our last domain for atrack is tracker.eu.org, that domain is provided by eu.org, which their DNS root is run by volunteers.

In order to lessen the impact of the tracker to their DNS servers, I will move the tracker to this paid xyz DNS root.

We are now on gcloud!

 We have successfully deployed using gcloud instead of the deprecated appcfg.

Seperation of Website and instance

To make the code clear, we will start separating the website of the tracker and the tracker instance into separate projects in Google App Engine.

tracker.eu.org is not resolving correctly on OpenDNS

Someone on OpenDNS tagged our domain as P2P/File sharing by cantamarlapaz

We now use Cloudflare to minimize bandwith.

As torrent clients around the world uses our tracker, the free tier of Google App Engine is failing, now we try to use Cloudflare to minimize traffic.

Atrack is now updated to the latest version on http://hg.cat-v.org/atrack/.

Added America instance on 3.tracker.eu.org

To make the latency less for those who is on America, we added another project that caters on people that is living on America on https://3.tracker.eu.org/announce.

Tracker is now on eu.org domain!

The tracker was moved again to the new domain tracker.eu.org and atrack.eu.org.
The domain was requested on December 29, 2018 and approved by the eu.org webmasters on January 4, 2019. It takes 6 days to approve the domain.

Freenom has suspended our domain

Freenom has suspended our domain "track.ga" for no reason. Because of this, the tracker is not accessible by now.

1.track.ga and 2.track.ga is now retired

Because 2.track.ga is also hitting 1GB bandwidth, it is time to retire also the 2.track.ga.

Plan to retire 1.track.ga

Because of the high numbers of client connecting to our tracker, it always hit the 1GB bandwidth and always going over quata, so we think it is time to retire 1.track.ga.

Record breaking requests!

Number of request per day has reached 1 million per day.

Changed app location from asia-south1 to europe-west

First, we chose Mumbai, India because we know that India is a country that uses more torrents and it is nearest to our hometown, Manila, Philippines. But because of the cost of maintaining the app in asia-south1, we chose to move to europe-west because it is near to the hometown of Uriel (the original maker of the app), Djursholm, Sweden and the cost of maintaining in Belgium is the same as as us-central (Iowa).

Tracker is now up and running!
